Simultaneously Power Your Appliances
The CSA-listed, CARB-, and 50-State-compliant HW2000i comes equipped with a 125-cc, four-stroke air engine that produces 2,000 rated watts of power--plenty of juice to keep a range of appliances, electrical devices, and systems up and running. With this handy device, you can simultaneously power cordless phones, radios, microwaves, electric fans, and more. You can also individually power a host of other items, including sump pumps, desktop computers, appliances, and home security systems.

Inverters: Quiet, Portable Power
Offering 120 volts of output, the HW2000i is an inverter generator, so it provides clean power and quiet operation (62-dB rating at seven meters, no load).

Also, this four-stroke unit requires only gasoline and oil. It will run for five hours when the 1.5-gallon tank is full, making it a great option for all your recreational needs. And at just 62 pounds and with built-in handles, it's easy to move and store.

Efficient and Easy to Use
The HW2000i is exceptionally simple to use and comes equipped with Smart Start instructions to assist with easy starts. To help ensure trouble-free operation, an indicator light will illuminate, and the unit will completely shut down in low-oil conditions. An overload protection indicator light helps preserve the life of the HW2000i, and an economy mode allows you to save fuel and further reduce running sound.

The HW2000i is backed by a two-year warranty.

How to Start Your Honeywell 2000i Inverter Generator

Good Choice - Great Price. Hurricane Alley User Explains why

Review Date: July 17, 2009
Reviewer: javajunki,
Living in Florida means power outages. If it's not a hurricane passing through, it's the afternoon thunderstorms that blow down branches or just an unlucky squirrel...somehow there always seems to be a power outage. Having pushed an old Coleman Powermate generator to it's limit, we decided it was time to start searching for a replacement. Originally wanted a nice Honda inverter generator but wasnt able to locate them - and the price was pretty high. Because we live in a residential area, noise levels are a factor and want/need something that can run a few electronics including a small room A/C without major incident. Saw this and decided to give it a try.

One of the previous reviewers claims to have found this unit for $300 at Home Depot - they do indeed carry it but in my area it was $700 plus tax...nearly 50 percent more than this one which was delivered to my door with free shipping. There is also a 1,000 watt unit which is less expensive but only 1/2 the wattage - less wattage is less useful. 2,000 watts isn't much but it runs a small room AC that we keep on hand for power outages plus a few lights etc without incident making it the perfect size.

Now, about the unit itself. It's roughly the size of a small suitcase - larger than expected since I thought it would approximate the Honda. It's also louder than the Honda although quieter than the old Coleman Powermate. Has a tough orange/red plastic casing that requires a screwdriver to open in order to access many of the controls (screwdriver is included) however, they do not appear to be weather sealed despite fitting fairly securely in place. Unit is hefty but convenient to carry with built-in handle, stabilized footings etc...

Pulls start - not instant - a bit disappointing but started up quickly (2ned pull). 2 regular outlets and one 12v with easy access fuse areas. Level indicators and efficiency settings all conveniently located. Fuel pours into top and could splash onto control panel if you were sleepy or sloopy - however, the actual fuel opening is large and very easy to access with a funnel. Ditto for oil which also comes with a funnel..in fact, all the little extras you will need are included except for the oil itself (which would have been nice).

This is CARB compliant, fairly quiet especially on efficiency setting, able to run more delicate electronics etc...supposedly you can plus in refrigerator/stove but since mine are on the more expensive side and we have other cooking arrangements during an outage - I've not tested that setting yet.

Will try to update after some use to determine reliability and durability. Right off - seems like a nice little unit for decent price. Versatile, fairly quiet...it's not a Honda but also cost a lot less. Satisfied with purchase to date.
works great !

i live on a remote island in the bahamas....the electricity goes off frequently and usually on the hottest day imaginable:)
i use this generator to power my 6500 btu window unit air conditoner along with my satellite receiver and 26" flat screen t.v.

ive run the a.c. twelve hours straight and only used 1.25 gallons of gas...its a little heavy..and louder than the honda..but half the price of the honda...so i dont mind...

if you need a generator to run your a.c. this one is great...
Excellent value, easy to use, USA made

I shopped around extensively for a generator that would fit the bill for recreational use and home-emergency use. I didn't need something that would power a neighborhood, just run a sump pump or a refrigerator/freezer, etc. I read a lot of reviews, and was pretty discouraged by similar output sized generators. The Honeywell seemed the best rated and the most functional, though it was a bit more expensive than what I had planned to spend. I usually go cheap and then regret it later - I learned my lesson with chainsaws - with some things, price and quality go hand in hand. This generator is solid, compact, easy to use (you have to read the instructions, there are no shortcuts), easy to pull-start, and portable enough for the average Joe to carry (though it is pretty heavy when filled with oil and gas). Size-wise, it is bigger than it looks in this picture. It is about the size of one of those extra large old-style hard-sided Samsonite suitcases. It works great, does everything it says it does, delivers a consistent load and starts every time! I think it is a great product and a good value.
Honeywell Hw2000i Generator Review

Review Date: June 14, 2010
Reviewer: R. Herr,
I was cautiously optomistic about ordering this generator after reading some of the previous reviews, however my experience has been a good one so far. Received the generator and set it up per instructions. I noticed that on this updated design there is no priming bulb. Oil, gas, choke and it started on the first pull. I let it run for a while and tested the voltage at 122 volts. I shut it off for about a minute and it started on the first pull again without use of the choke. Seems like Honeywell may have addressed some of the flaws in the previous design. It runs smoth and really quiet using the economode switch.
Great Generator
